Leading up to the Cape Cycle Tour, it can be tricky to remember all the things you need to check and prepare for. Here are 5 simple steps that will help you be prepared to have your best day out.
1. Have your bike cleaned and serviced.
2. If you’re tubeless, replace sealant and if you have tubes, you can put sealant in your tubes for extra puncture resistance.
3. Bring your bike in and set up your tyre pressure so that it is correct for your weight. Remember to check this on race morning as well.
4. Make sure you’ve packed your spares, like your puncture repair kit, tubes, Co2 canisters, hand pump, multi-tool etc.
5. Pack enough and the necessary nutrition (remember to pack more if it’s going to be hot).
Make sure you have a multi-tool that’ll work with your bike (ensuring it includes the appropriate allen key, whether star or normal-shaped).
Also make sure your multi-tool has a chain breaker and that the chain link you’re carrying is compatible with your chain (there isn’t a one-size-fits-all).
With the right preparation and guidance, you won’t waste the hard work you’ve put in due to a technical issue. We’re here to make sure you get to the finish line and have your best Cape Cycle Tour yet. Send us a message to start the conversation.
