Setting up your cockpit
Brake it down

Being able to stop is as important as being able to go fast on your bike. Braking power affects your control, skill and riding efficiency – so you must make sure it’s set up correctly.

When setting up your brakes, try different angles to see what feels comfortable and most natural to you. Sit on your bike to try out the angles. Aim to have a straight line through your wrist, arm and elbow and shoulder as a start and go from there. You can also adjust your brake reach to accommodate your finger length. If you need assistance, we’re here to help.

When testing out the spacing and angles of your brake levers, close your eyes and see how it feels. Are they evenly spaced and set up? Are they the same height? If you’re just looking, your eyes might play tricks on you so let our experts help you.
