Don’t put yourself under

One of the most common maintenance mistakes is over or under-inflating your tyres. Not only will it make your ride more uncomfortable, or leave you more prone to punctures, but you’ll also risk smoothing your tread and damaging your tyre walls.

Here’s what will happen with

incorrectly inflated tyres:

1. Overinflation will increase vibrations through your bike, making your ride bouncier and more uncomfortable than needed. You’ll also decrease control and steering abilities.

2. Under-inflation: will increase the chances of puncture, increase rolling resistance, decrease speed, and increase your chances of damaging both your tyres and rims.

Here’s what you can do to prolong your tyre life:

1. Have yourself weighed and checked for the right pressure for you and your riding style (we can do this in-store, or check the tyre guide online [brand relevant]).
2. Invest in a good floor pump to check your tyres before and after every ride.
3. Carry all the essential puncture repairs necessary for your bike.
4. Check and re-top your sealant (if tubeless) regularly.
