Fuel for every ride

One of the biggest contributors to fatigue and running your immune system down is a lack of fuel. No matter how your day looks, don’t skip meals. You need good, healthy, balanced meals to fuel yourself on every ride. Remember, food today is fuel for tomorrow.

FUEL comes in different forms. Here’s what to look out for in your NUTRITION

1. Electrolytes help you replace sodium lost through sweat. Not replacing electrolytes leaves you at risk of cramping and dehydration.
2. Carbohydrates are your body's go-to source of energy when training (glycogen). It’s the fastest form of energy you can consume, and without it you can run into glycogen depletion, messing with your body’s natural sugar levels.
3. Protein is needed to repair and grow muscle you’ve used or damaged during exercise. Without it, you cannot recover.

Here’s what to LOOK OUT for when FUELING:

1. Processed and refined sugars.
2. Meal replacements (eat real food).
3. Fried and fast, high fat (bad fat) foods.
4. Avoid sugary drinks like alcohol and soft drinks.
