Front suspension doesn’t only help soften the bumps in the road, but it also takes strain off your wrists and arms. Depending on the type of riding you do, front suspension can range from 100mm (best for XCO style riding) to 200mm (Enduro/ downhill riding).
1. Wheel size – do you have a 26”, 27.5” or 29” bicycle wheel size.
2. Axle compatibility – Do you have a through axle (usually 15mm or 20mm) – or a 9mm quick release.
3. Travel – although you’re likely to want to increase your travel, certain bikes can only accommodate a certain amount of travel. You can check compatibility with us.
4. Steerer tube: can differ in size depending on the bike. Your new fork must have a compatible steerer tube with your frame.
5. Brake type – most MTB’s have disc brakes, just make sure you’re not purchasing a rim brake compatible fork.
A dropper post can be considered a form of suspension. Although it allows your saddle to move up and down as you go over obstacles, some dropper posts have a small amount of travel for extra comfort.
Make sure you have the right front suspension for you and your riding. Remember, even just getting the pressure right can transform your riding. Send us a message, and we will assess your suspension.
