How wide should you go?

With the wide variety of tyre options on the market, it’s difficult to know which will be best for your winter adventures. Width is one of the most crucial factors to get right. Do you have the right width for your riding?

Wider tyres boost grip and control but reduce rolling speed. Narrower tyres offer less grip and control but enhance rolling speed.

29” x 2.25 (width) is great for fast-rolling gravel roads and dry winter conditions but has poor to medium grip.

29” x 2.35 (width) is the perfect all-rounder tyre for winter riding. If you’re not planning any crazy obstacles and mud, this is a good option for you with medium rolling resistance.

29” x 2.45 (width) has a fantastic grip for muddy, slippery trails, but very high rolling resistance, making them slow on smooth trails.
