Trusting the process and making steady improvements is the best way to build your confidence on your bike. But make sure you go into every training ride with purpose. Think about what you’d like to achieve and stay focused on the goal. Even better, ask one of the experts at our store to help you establish a realistic timeline to achieve your goal. We’ll be able to help you with structured training or a skills session.
For a tail whip or a bunny hop, you need a strong core to control your bike and your body weight as the bike moves underneath you. Make sure you’re doing everything you can off the bike, to ensure you can make the best possible progress on the bike. Do a plank every evening before bed and measure your progress. Start small, try 15 – 30 seconds on each side plank and build as you go.
Conquering your fears on the bike and making improvements doesn’t happen overnight. But like anything that’s worth it, it takes time. Stay committed to your riding by keeping a positive mind and investing in strength and skills training.
