Are you lacking the confidence to power over an obstacle or around a corner?
Cycling is as physical as it is mental. Practising your skills and having the confidence to go over obstacles could be what you’re lacking. Beyond attending skills clinics and coaching, make an effort to stay positive. Here are a few other ways you can strengthen your mental game on the bike:
• Set goals
• Join group rides
• Book a one-on-one skills session
• Ask us for advice
The more you ride, the tighter your hamstrings, hip flexors and quadriceps become. These tight muscles will pull your spine and pelvis and cause lower back pain, making it more difficult to execute skills. In fact, unless you’re making an effort to stretch after every ride, you’re probably losing power and experiencing pain. You need to spend at least 20 minutes after every ride stretching and strengthening your muscles. Include the High Cobra in your stretching routine.
Make sure you’re staying positive by working on your strength, flexibility and skills to get the most out of your riding experience. If you need guidance or advice, we’re here to help you.
If you engage in these exercises, you agree that you do so at your own risk and assume all
risk of injury to yourself.
