If the shoe fits
It’s all connected

The point that connects you to your bike is your cycling shoe and cleat. As a result, you need to be sure your shoe fits you, and your cleat is set correctly for optimal performance.

“Float” refers to the amount of mobility your foot has when clipped into your pedal. The more float you have, the more your foot can move. Perfecting your rotational position and float on your cleat will increase your comfort, pedalling efficiency and reduce risk of injury – specifically in your knee.

Attaching your cleat to your shoe might seem straight forward, but getting the right position and float will affect your power-output, comfort and injury prevention. If your cleat is too far back, your heel will drop, and your foot will be come unstable through each pedal stroke.
