Get your personal best up the hill and avoid punctures coming down with the right tyre pressure for you and your bike.
Although it sounds simple, your riding style, terrain, bike type and your weight all factor into your tyre pressure. As a rule, narrower tyres require more air, and wider tyres, less.
• Road tyres should be between 5 – 9 bar (80 – 130 psi)
• Mountain bike tyres between 1.6 – 2.4 bar (25 – 35 psi)
• Hybrid tyres between 2.7 – 4.8 bar (40 – 70 psi)
All of the above pressures are estimations. Your weight and riding style all affect your tyre pressures.
