Pump it up
Under pressure

So how much is too much pressure? More often than not, riders tend to overinflate their tyres.

Your tyres should have the maximum tyre pressure limit on the side wall, but often this is too much as it doesn’t take external factors into account (like rider weight, weather and terrain). Remember:
• The smoother the road, the higher pressure will feel better
• Even rough tar might require a slightly lower pressure
• Sand will require a lower pressure than a regular trail
• You can run different pressures on your front and back tyres – they don’t have to be the same.

So how do you know what the right pressure is? Bring your bike into the store and we’ll do a tyre pressure assessment for you for free, considering your weight, riding style and terrain.
